Show details
Dirpolis Institute of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa has activated the 1st edition of the Summer School “The Regulation of Robotics & AI in Europe: Legal, Ethical and Economic Implications”, pursuant to art. 3 of the Charter.

The Summer School is part of a three-year project that was awarded in the framework of the Call for proposals 2018 – EAC/A05/2017 under the Jean Monnet Activities of the Erasmus+ Programme – Jean Monnet “Centre of Excellence on the Regulation of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence”.

The course will be offered at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies from the 1st to the 6th of July 2019, for a total of 40 hours. Two academic credits (in accordance with the European Credits Transfer and Accumulation System - ECTS) will be awarded upon successful completion of the Course, which requires the attendance of at least 90% of classes and passing the final examination. The Summer School will be taught in English.

The Course will provide participants with an advanced understanding of the European framework of robotics and AI technologies.

Target audience
The Summer School aims at providing international students, policy makers, and professionals from different backgrounds with the knowledge and interdisciplinary skills necessary to understand the different issues posed by the development and diffusion of robotics in EU, namely to: design robots/counsel enterprises, ensuring compliance with applicable regulation, technical-ethical standards, social acceptability and respect of the CFR, develop risk-management strategies and entrepreneurship models, as well as define new EU policies on these matters.

European Robotics Week 2019 (#ERW2019)
Show details
The European Robotics Week (ERW) offers one week of various robotics related activities across Europe for the general public, highlighting growing importance of robotics in a wide variety of application areas. ERW aims at inspiring technology education in students of all ages to pursue careers in STEM-related fields, i.e. science, technology, engineering and math.

The European Robotics Week (ERW) was conceived at the European Robotics Forum (ERF) 2011 by the desire of the European Robotics community to bring robotics research and development closer to the public and to build the future Robotics Society.

There is a lot going on in Europe during the European Robotics Week: school visits with lectures on robotics, guided tours for pupils, open labs, exhibitions, challenges, robots in action on public squares. The participating companies, universities and research bring their robots and organisations to the attention of the public educating them on how robotics impacts society, both now and in the future.

It’s time to show the general public what robotics is all about and what important role robots play in Europe!

The central event of ERW2019 will take place in Poznan, Poland, on 14-16 November.
