"Living and working with robots" was the motto of the 8th European Robotics Forum (ERF) which took place on 22-24 March 2017 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
This unique robotics event offered 60 information-filled workshops with presentations by leading European experts from industry, business, and top-level academia, as well as relevant European policy makers. At the exhibition, 31 sponsors and exhibitors showcased their prototypes, products, and services, and attendees got to know the most advanced European robotics industry, research institutes and projects.

ERF2017 is not another scientific conference but the one event where delegates can network with roboticists from over 40 countries, during the social events (Welcome Reception and euRobotics Awards Ceremony Banquet Dinner).

Target audience
840 attendees from all over Europe and beyond participanted in the Forum, along with 31 exhibitors and sponsors.

The 2017 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) will be held from May 29 to June 3, 2017 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. ICRA is IEEE Robotics and Automation Society's flagship conference and is a premier international forum for robotics researchers to present their work.

The conference theme, “Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Real-world Solutions”, underscores the need for innovative R&D talent, dynamic and goal-driven entrepreneurs and practitioners using robotics and automation technology to solve challenging real-world problems such as shortage of labour, an ageing society, and creating sustainable environments.

Target audience
ICRA 2017 will introduce a new Robotics Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum, alongside an industry forum, a government forum, an ASEAN & emerging country forum, and a public forum (ICRA-X) centred on the conference theme, in addition to plenary and keynote sessions, technical paper sessions, workshop and tutorial sessions, exhibitions, and robot challenges. Researchers, engineers, students, industry, investors and people from all walks of life interested in robotics and automation are welcome to participate in this gala robotics event.

Competition/Challenge , Conference/Workshop
The 26th IEEE International Symposium on Robot and Human Interactive Communication, RO-MAN 2017, will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 28 to September 1, 2017. This symposium is a leading forum where state-of-the-art innovative results, the latest developments as well as future perspectives relating to robot and human interactive communication are presented and discussed.

At the conference, a ERL (European Robotics League) Service Robots (ERL-SR) challenge will take place that aims at bringing together the benefits of scientific benchmarking with the attraction of robot competitions in the realm of domestic service robotics, where robots interact with humans to help them in the domestic chores. Thus, RO-MAN 2017 being hosted by Lisbon, where one of the ERL-SR test beds is located, was an unique opportunity to hold a ERL-SR Major Tournament co-located with the conference, simultaneously making it the conference Competitions Track.

At the RO-MAN 2017, the information about the ERL-SR competitions will be regularly updated at https://sites.google.com/site/erlsrroman2017/ . On 31 August afternoon, a tour to visit IST Robotics Labs and see the finals of the competitions will be organised. On 1 September, one of the Workshops will focus on robot competitions.

The IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems is sponsored by the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society, the Robotics Society of Japan, the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, the New Technology Foundation, and the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 377,000 individual members in 150 countries. The full name is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. The IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others. The IEEE Robotics & Automation Society is a very active worldwide research association working on the future of robotics.

The theme of IROS 2017 is “Friendly People, Friendly Robots”. Robots and humans are becoming increasingly integrated in various application domains. We work together in factories, hospitals and households, and share the road. This collaborative partnership of humans and robots gives rise to new technological challenges and significant research opportunities in developing friendly robots that can work effectively with, for, and around people.

Target audience
The conference will join experts in the field of robotics and automation for technical communications through presentations and discussions. The conference will create a remarkable environment for attendees to explore the frontier of science and technology in robotics and automation. The IROS 2017 edition will last for five days, consisting of two days of workshops/tutorials, three days of technical presentations with plenary talks, exhibitions, technical and non-technical tours, attractive social events, as well as Robotics & Automation Society meetings.
